This 526-page book contains seven generations of the descendants of Pedro Lozano and Mariana de la Garza. He was born in Zacatecas about 1645 and entered El Nuevo Reyno de Leon (Nuevo Leon) prior to 1669. In that year he married Mariana de la Garza, and it is the earliest record that could be found in Monterrey where he is mentioned. Pedro is considered the progenitor of the Lozano surname in Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, and Texas. This book contains information from the late 1600s through the late middle of the 1900s.
From the will of his father, we know that his parents are Pedro Lozano and Antonia Urquiza. The will is dated the 9th of September 1674 in Zacatecas, Mexico.
Pedro Lozano was a prominent figure in the colonial history of Monterrey during the late 17th century. He played an active role in various social, legal, and economic matters. His name appears in numerous documents within the Municipal Archives of Monterrey from 1599 to 1700, reflecting his contributions to the region's development.
Pedro married Mariana de la Garza by the church on the 2nd of October 1669 at Sagrario Metropolitano, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She was the daughter of Pedro de la Garza and Maria Lucia de la Rocha. They had a total of seven children; Pedro, Antonia, Maria, Ines, Nicolas, Andres, and Pedro. Four of them had descendants and they are in thsi book.
As of the 10th of December 2024 I have been able to document 4856 descendants for Pedro Lozano and his wife Mariana de la Garza. This book only contains a fraction of them, it only includes the first seven generations of descendants that I have been able to confirm.
All profits from this book helps fund more research into the Lozano and other surnames of the region. I also truly hope that you find this book useful in your research.$59.95
