This 541-page book contains six generations of the descendants of Nicolas Gutierrez de Lara and Clara de Treviño Renteria. Nicolas was born about 1652 and probably born in Queretaro and entered el Nuevo Reino de Leon (Nuevo Leon) before 1672. He is considered to be the progenitor of the Gutierrez last name in Nuevo Leon, Tamaulipas, and South Texas. This book contains information from the late 1600’s to the middle 1800’s.
Nicolas was the son of Melchor Gutierrez and Isabel de Lara and as per author and researcher Tomas Mendirichaga Cueva they were neighbors of Queretaro. It is unknown if his parents ever came to El Nuevo Reino de Leon.
On November 14, 1672 he married Clara de Treviño Renteria the daughter of Alonzo de Treviño and Maria Mayor Sebastiana de Renteria.
The marriage record can be found in the church records of Monterrey but it states that they were married at the Hacienda de al Pesqueria.
From the many records that I have found it is certain that Nicolas and Clara lived and raised their children in El Valle de las Salinas.
